At The James Hotel, we are working to become a sustainable hotel and working environment.

That does not mean we do everything right, but we are increasingly aware of the steps we take and make every effort to find a more sustainable alternative in every consideration. That may be with products, suppliers and/or processes.

Since 2022, The James has partnered with Hotel Neutral. Hotel Neutral is a collaboration between Green Leisure Group, Blue City, Rotterdam Partners and the Municipality of Rotterdam and sixteen participating Hotels in Rotterdam. Together, we are taking steps towards a CO2 neutral and circular future. Steps that contribute to cost savings and ensure a cleaner Rotterdam through energy savings, less waste and food waste, more circular products, water savings and reduced CO2 emissions.

We also took the UNESCO Sustainable Travel Pledge, an initiative by UNESCO to commit to take action to protect the environment, local culture and communities. This is to help set a trend towards sustainable travel, ensuring that future generations can also enjoy the beauty of the world.
